A Galapagos Islands Adventure for Kids

Updated January 2015

Combining years of writing and traveling, I'm thrilled to introduce Wally the Warm-Weather Penguin, a children's book about the Galapagos Islands, now available on Amazon sites world wide.

Ever since returning from our Antarctica Cruise and visiting the Galapagos Islands, I've had a story in mind about an Emperor Penguin who decides he doesn't want to be cold anymore. And what better place to go than the tropical Galapagos Islands where Galapagos Penguins swim and surf in the sun?

Wally the Warm-Weather Penguin is the story of Wally, an Emperor Penguin from Antarctica who learns about the Galapagos Islands and sets sail in search of warm weather. There, Wally discovers an amazing world of tap-dancing crabs, racing hundred-year-old tortoises and diving birds with bright blue feet (and a very funny name).

Wally the Warm-Weather Penguin is a board book aimed at children 1 - 4 years old. Perfect for anyone who has visited, is interested in or is headed to the Galapagos Islands as well as any child who loves animals, especially penguins. Available today in paperback and ebook on Amazon sites worldwide! Please note, the digital edition is optimized for tablet devices and computers to beautifully display the brilliant, full-color illustrations.

It's been a long-term goal to bring some of the wonderful places we've visited to kids through stories, so it's an incredible thrill to finally see this story being enjoyed by children around the world.

Happy Reading!

P.S. As many of the unique animals in the Galapagos Islands are endangered, a portion of the proceeds from sales of Wally the Warm-Weather Penguin will be donated to conservation efforts.

  1. What a lovely idea for a story. Will have to look out for this one when next on the hunt for a new book! Having visited the Galapagos Islands in the past I'm particularly taken with the idea and would love to pass on that knowledge to my daughters! Thanks for sharing with #wildlifewednesday on Baby Routes!
