Maui Photo Journal - Day 3, The Road to Hana

It's possible to complete the Road to Hana in one day, but taking your time means stopping at amazing beaches, jumping off waterfalls and getting your fill of postcard-worthy views.

Start early and grab some of the famous Apple-Banana Bread from a roadside stand. Then enjoy the scenery as this road trip takes you through stunning terrain. You'll see how varied the landscape in Maui really is...hint, it's not just beaches.
But the beaches are gorgeous. Red is just one of the colors of sand you'll find en route.
A series of waterfalls and pools, the Seven Sacred Pools or Pools of Ohe'o, are beautiful to look at...
...and even more fun to jump off!
Stunning and smooth black sand beaches.
Brilliant lush vegetation can be found on the wetter side of the island.
Watch the ocean waves spew like a geyser at Nakalele Blowhole.
Be prepared to stop frequently for photo opps.
