Lola of North Beach – San Francisco
Wandering through this charming card and gift shop is a must-do when visiting San Francisco.
From Italian note cards to clever baby gifts (the first place I saw AB/CD onesies) to uniquely scented soy candles (Persian fig, for example), Lola of North Beach is a place to find something unique.
The owners of Lola are a lovely, stylish couple who come from the retail industry and know how to buy, design and run a shop. And now they have two – their first store opened in North Beach in 2002 and recently they opened a new store in Ghirardelli Square.
Lucky for all of us who don’t live in San Francisco, they now have an online store with a great selection of items that are packed and shipped in their trademark light green and brown paper with a free handwritten card as a gift card, if requested. As they say, if you are in the area, “stop by and say hi”…you will be glad to you did.
